Ken Corneau founded United Steel, formerly known as East Hartford Welding, in 1974. Through continuous growth, he has led the company to its strong market position today as the largest fabricator and erector of structural steel and miscellaneous metals in New England.
Ken is responsible for directing the United Steel Leadership Committee, which is ultimately responsible for the accomplishments of the company. He oversees and manages all long-term strategic decisions and plans to ensure the continued success and strength of United Steel.
Ken has over 40 years of industry experience and is a member of the National Contractors Council to Associate General Contractors and former Board of Directors member for the Associated Builders and Contractors, Connecticut. In addition, he is an active member of the American Institute of Steel Construction and the Structural Steel Fabricators of New England.
Ken enjoys golf, the beach, and traveling.
Keith Corneau serves as Executive Vice President and is on United Steel’s Leadership Committee. He is responsible for the External Operations at United Steel, including Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Engineering, and Detailing.
Keith joined the United Steel team back in 1996, working in both the shop and field during his summers while attending college. In 2000, he came on full time as an Estimator and worked his way through Project Management, before becoming the Vice President of Sales & Estimating in 2007. He spent 4 years in this role before moving to Vice President of Construction.
Keith has a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing from the University of South Carolina. He is also very active in the community and is on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Associated Builders and Contractors CT Chapter, Associated General Contractors CT Chapter, East Harford Chamber of Commerce, Brain Injury Association of Connecticut (BIAC) “Walk for Thought,” and West Hartford Wolves Youth Hockey Program.
Keith enjoys outdoor activities, including golf, hockey, the beach, and attending concerts and sporting events.
Glen Corneau serves as Vice President of Field Construction and is on United Steel’s Leadership Committee. He is responsible for supervising the field superintendents and overseeing all field crews of ironworkers and field foreman in both structural steel and miscellaneous metals divisions of United Steel.
Glen joined United Steel team back in 1979, working in the field. Over the years, Glen has received multiple certifications in welding, Structural Steel for Buildings and advanced management and leadership training.
Glen enjoys golf, horseshoes, and going to various sporting events.
Lynn Caouette serves as Chief Financial Officer and is on United Steel’s Leadership Committee. Joining United Steel in 1996, Lynn worked her way through the positions of Accounting Manager and Controller before taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2007. Prior to United Steel, her background was in auditing and banking.
Lynn has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and her MSAT in Accounting and Taxation from the University of Hartford. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of AICPA, CSCPA, and CFMA.
Lynn enjoys traveling, photography, reading, camping, hockey and spending time with her family.
Joining United Steel in 2003, Mr. Kasica was most recently a Project Manager before being promoted to Director of Construction. Dan is currently responsible for leading Project Management, Engineering, and Detailing. Prior to this, he held positions of increasing responsibility with United Steel.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Central Connecticut State University.
In Dan’s free time, he enjoys boating and camping.
Scotti Rylands serves as human resources manager for United Steel. Prior to joining the company, she was human resources manager at Meduri Farms, Inc., a specialty dried fruit processor with 500 employees. Additionally, she was office manager for Advantage Heating and Air Conditioning and general manager at Pacific Thermal Sales. She is certified by the Society of Human Resource Managers.
Scotti loves traveling and exploring throughout Connecticut. She also fundraises for non-profit organizations, and has served on the budget board of Chemeketa Community College in Oregon.
Jeff Godin serves as the Director of Technology on United Steel’s Leadership Committee. He is responsible for IT management, internal data systems, software and hardware systems. Jeff started with United Steel as an engineering intern in 1999. After working on the West Coast, he returned to the company in 2012 as an estimator and grew from that role to his current position. Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Central Connecticut State University.
Jeff enjoys hiking, biking, rock climbing, golf and classic cars.
