United Steel’s seasoned office staff helps construction managers and contractors with estimating, budgeting, pre-planning, scheduling and turnover of all structural steel. United Steel uses the most advanced detailing software to be fully BIM compatible and to provide complete electronic documentation.
United Steel’s 200,000 square-foot facility is tooled with the latest steel fabrication equipment and manned by multiple in-house crews of experienced merit-based ironworkers and craftsmen. We leverage today’s advanced CNC technology and other high-tech tools and have our own fleet of cranes necessary to meet high production standards and scheduling demands.
United Steel owns multiple cranes, has fully trained operators and crews, and has access to numerous union subcontractors throughout New England should it be necessary.
United Steel also has a 7,000 square-foot “clean room” designed exclusively for manufacturing aluminum and stainless steel parts and components that are free of cross-contamination with carbon steel particles. Here we create ornate, intricate and purposefully metal components for stair rails, bar gratings and more.

United Steel fabricates and erects structural steel components for structures of all sizes and for all industries including retail, healthcare, higher education, technology, entertainment, manufacturing, and for municipalities.
Production takes place in United Steel’s 200,000 square-foot facility, which is outfitted with the latest steel fabrication equipment and manned by multiple in-house crews of experienced merit-based ironworkers and craftsmen. We leverage today’s advanced technology to meet high production standards and scheduling demands. United Steel also has design/build services when needed.
When United Steel delivers steel to a job site, it is ready for erection by our expert field team. In addition to owning multiple cranes and having operators and crew necessary for each job, United Steel has access to numerous union subcontractors throughout New England when needed.
Miscellaneous Metals
Beauty on the outside
United Steel has a team of skilled artisans who design and create unique ornamental metal fabrications for railings, grand stairways and complex radial stairs in our miscellaneous metals shop. This creative team works in brass, bronze, brushed aluminum, steel, and exotic metals, to meet engineering and code requirements and bring any design to life.
United Steel has a specially equipped 7,000 square-foot clean room designed exclusively for manufacturing aluminum and stainless steel components that are free of cross-contamination with carbon steel particles. This pure environment helps us to avoid long-term concerns such as unsightly rust and damage which can lead to costly repairs or replacements.
United Steel’s miscellaneous metals shop handles all specialty coatings and AESS finishes. Our network capabilities range from ASTM 123, 153 galvanizing, color galvanizing, anodizing of aluminum, powder coating, Kynar finishes and all prime coat applications. All finished coatings are tested through our miscellaneous metals quality control process.

United Steel is an AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) Advanced Certified Erector and Fabricator. Our award-winning safety program has resulted in a stunning EMR – impressive for this historically dangerous profession.
