“Let’s end each day where it started, safe at home.”
– United Steel’s Safety Mission

United Steel has a strong commitment to the safety of our employees, from the ownership and management to every employee. It is a critical part of our culture and an integral part of our daily routine. We approach safety as a priority in all we do, from a full-time Safety Director, a Safety Committee, employee training, and most importantly, employee involvement. Employee feedback and suggestions is a integral part of the safety culture.

United Steel’s safety performance is of the highest standard and is often well respected by our customers and project owners. We are considered the safety leader on many projects.

One of the main keys to our success is involving all levels of employees in our safety program. In fact, the open and honest communication we enjoy with our employees, due to their trust in our commitment to safety, is the greatest asset in our safety program.

United Steel SafetySafety training includes all levels of the company completing the OSHA 10 Hour Construction outreach training program.

United Steel’s Safety Director, Mike Colt, was a finalist for the CT AGC Safety Professional of the year in 2013.
